Huron Indian Creation Legend
- Huron Indian Creation Legend
In the myth of the Huron North American Indians the two brothers Tsentsa and
Tawiscara (who are the equivalent of
Enigorio and Enigohatgea) who were of virgin birth and the first leaders of the tribe after the Deluge quarrelled and fought. Tsentsa was successful and Tawiscara had to flee. Tsentsa made life possible on earth by defeating the Great Frog which had swallowed all the waters (i.e. the Deluge) and returning them to the rivers and valleys. One of the other Huron deities was
Onniont, the snake deity.
